The Safety 1st Acella Sport Travel System includes a full-size stroller and an infant car seat with a stay-in-vehicle base. The stroller has many standard items, such as a five-point harness. Unlike some models, however, the Acella has a lightweight aluminum frame that folds up easily into place with one hand.
It takes barely any effort to clip the Acella Designer 22 Infant Car Seat into the stroller and is just as easy to remove. Like the stroller, the car seat also has a five-point harness, but not as much posh padding as other car seats in its class.
Parents liked the big canopy, but the car seat’s carrying handle is just standard. The car seat’s base is typical of basic models, it doesn’t have the extra safety features.
For trips to the park or playground, it has a parent-assist tray with three drink holders and a removable snack tray with a juice box holder. Rear foot brakes and front dual caster wheels with a lockable swivel and front suspension allow smooth and consistent motion. The stroller features jogging-style front wheels and a fully reclining seat with several recline positions.
The stroller is easy to maneuver, but a few parents find it difficult to turn occasionally.
While this travel system can do the job for most parents, it will function at a most basic level because it has few frills.
